Mobile applications
A mobile application makes particular sense when users work away from a desk: at a point of sale, in the field, in a warehouse or at a customer site. We can handle the whole process, from interface design through system integration to release in the app stores.
Android and iOS
We build for both platforms. For Team4U we developed SimApka, a SIM registration application used by retail staff on Android and iOS. For SPOC we built an Android application integrated with ServiceNow and also handled its visual design.
A mobile app usually works with other systems
The application on the phone is often only one part of the solution. It still has to communicate with systems already running inside the business and deal with poor or unavailable connectivity. We therefore design the server side and data exchange together with the mobile application.
Release and ongoing updates
We prepare applications for Google Play and the App Store and help them through the review process. We can also handle subsequent updates. Platform requirements change regularly, so applications distributed through the stores require ongoing maintenance.
When a web app is enough
If users have a browser and the application does not need device-specific functionality such as the camera, notifications or offline operation, we will say so. A web application may then be simpler and less expensive to maintain, while updates do not require another store review.
Common questions
Native or cross-platform?
It depends on what the application needs to do. Heavy use of device capabilities may favour native development. For applications built primarily around forms and data, a cross-platform approach can often simplify development and maintenance. We decide this during analysis and estimation.
Do you handle the design as well?
Yes. For SPOC we handled both the visual design and the development work. If you already have a visual identity or work with your own designer, we can use the materials you provide.
Do you publish under our developer account?
Yes. The Google Play and App Store developer accounts should belong to your company. We can help set them up and handle the first release, while your company remains the owner of the store listing.
