Mobile applications
A mobile app earns its place when the work happens away from a desk — at a point of sale, in the field, at a customer site. We build them from visual design through to release, together with the integration into systems you already run.
Android and iOS
We deliver for both platforms. For SimApka we built a SIM registration app used by retail staff, running on Android and iOS alike. For SPOC we built an Android application integrated with the ServiceNow platform, in an engagement that also covered the visual design.
An app is rarely an island
The real work is usually the integration: the app has to talk to a system your company already runs, and keep working where the signal is poor. We design the server side together with the app, because that is what decides whether the phone is useful out in the field.
Release, and everything after it
We prepare builds for Google Play and the App Store, get through store review and stay on for updates. Review cycles and platform requirements change every year — an app left unattended simply stops being available.
When a web app is enough
If your users have a browser and the app needs no camera, notifications or offline work, we will say so. A web application is cheaper to maintain and does not have to pass store review every time you fix something.
Common questions
Native or cross-platform?
It depends on what the app genuinely needs. Heavy use of device hardware favours native; a forms-and-data application is usually better served cross-platform, letting one team cover both stores instead of two. We decide that during estimation, not afterwards.
Do you handle the design as well?
Yes. In the SPOC project the engagement covered both the visual design and the development work. If you already have a brand or a designer, we work from your materials instead.
Do you publish under our developer account?
Yes, and it is the healthier arrangement: the Google Play and App Store developer accounts should belong to you. We will walk you through setup and the first release, but you stay the owner of the listing.
